Montbrun-les-Bains

Montbrun-les-Bains, an ancient fortified village perched at an altitude of 600 m facing the Mont Ventoux, is located in Provence in the Drôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Bordered by the river Gervanne, this small town is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and fields.

The thermal spa of Montbrun-les-Bains is one of the oldest in France and offers rheumatology and respiratory cures. The thermal waters are rich in mineral salts and trace elements and are therefore beneficial to health as they are used for rehabilitation, pain treatment and the relief of fatigue and stress.

A village with a Provençal feel, it is good to walk through the calades of Reilhanette, to admire the Belfry of the Village (a watchtower and former military structure, which has now become the Clock Tower) and to walk along the paths of the fountains to discover the water in the fountains, the thermal baths and the old mills.

The Château de Montbrun-les-Bains is one of the most popular sites in the town. It is a medieval castle built in the 11th century. It is surrounded by walls and a moat. It has a large inner courtyard and several buildings which include reception rooms, bedrooms, a chapel and gardens. The castle is open to the public and hosts exhibitions and guided tours.
