The Notre-Dame-de-France Statue
Gain some height by going to Corneille Rock, at the foot of the Notre-Dame-de-France Statue, which proudly stands above the city. Up there you will find a statue of the Virgin Mary erected in the 19th century, along with 213 Russian cannons. This work by Jean-Marie Bonnassieux measures 22.70m high and weighs 835 tonnes, enough to give you the feeling of being tiny.
Notre-Dame-du-Puy Cathedral
When you arrive at the cathedral, an impressive porch presents itself. Take the central staircase and discover the six domes, the nave as well as the organ and its double-sided case. You will certainly cross paths with many pilgrims, who have come to pray at the altar he dedicated to them. When you get out, take a few seconds to admire the panoramic view of the city.

Hiking enthusiast, in Puy-en-Velay, it is possible to do part of the route to Saint-Jacques de Compostela. Leave from the Tourist Office and travel 6.8 km to discover the many riches of heritage. Visit the upper town, the museums, the banks of the Borne, the Henri Vinay garden or the shops in the town center.
