Les Sybelles skiing area: a 360° stay on the Alps !
Make the most of your holiday in Les Sybelles, in the south of the Savoie region, to see what is hiding behind one of the top skiing areas in the French Alps.
The fourth biggest skiing area in France!
At an altitude between 1,100 and 2,620 metres, Les Sybelles is the fourth biggest skiing area in France! Here are a few key figures: 393 hectares of powder snow, 310 kilometres of descents, 136 slopes for all levels, 67 ski lifts, 7 very snowy mountains, 1 high-altitude glacier and links to 6 ski resorts: La Toussuire, Les Bottières, Le Corbier, Saint-Jean-d'Arves, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves and Saint-Colomban-des-Villards – where our holiday residence, Olydea Saint-Colomban-des-Villard, is located! The big asset of Les Sybelles is that it combines ski resorts and a big skiing area! So are you ready to hurtle off down the snowy mountains?
What a great view from the top of the ski lifts !
Whether you prefer Alpine skiing or cross-country skiing, take advantage of your holiday accommodation in Saint-Colomban-des-Villards, at the edge of Les Sybelles, to work off the excess energy on the slopes between La Toussuire and Le Corbier. The "Snowpy Mountain" is a fun park on the Toussuire slopes. It has an area of over 600 m2 dedicated to games and relaxation, with deck chairs and hammocks to take it easy in the sunshine and a mini-stadium for speed skiing challenges. In Saint-Jean-d'Arves, try the Vikings fun slope, as well as the huge freeride areas for everyone who loves off-piste skiing. A bonus is a magnificent view over the Aiguilles d'Arves and the Étendard Glacier ! And snowboarders will not feel left out. The Sybelles snowpark is in the Saint Sorlin d'Arves ski area. Here you will find some great slopes to try out your ski tricks at the foot of the Ouillon mountain, at an altitude of 2431 m. And when the slopes are closed, experience new sensations on a fat bike.
But that's not all !
To really overload on snow during your mountain holidays, get your snowshoes on or your cross-country skis and explore the Villards Valley with its villages and chapels. Enjoy a theme night and come up close to the Saint Sorlin glacier, the Pic de l'Étendard and its crevasses. Set off for a trip in a snowmobile in the Massif de l'Arvan-Villards or give in to the temptation of a paragliding flight from the Pointe du Corbier (2265 m). If you're looking for adventure, then play the musher at the head of a dog sled in the grandiose setting of the Savoyard mountains. And for fans of mountain climbing, the summits of the Arves Valley and the Maurienne glaciers provide a whole host of possibilities. At the heart of the Alps and Savoie, enjoy the perfect mountain holiday!
